We just returned from our annual Hilton Head family vacation. As always we had a great time!! Lucy had so much fun with all of her cousins, aunts, uncles and of course Mimi and PaPa. She loved playing in the ocean, hanging out at the beach, eating dinner with all of her cousins and just being surrounded by so many people. This morning after her Dad left for work she said, "I guess it's just you and me today kiddo!" I guess so Lucy!! We have lots of fun memories of our favorite trip of the year!
Lucy has a new buddy and he has four legs and a tail. He is our neighbors dog, Lovey. From the first day we moved into our house Lovey has come by for a visit. He and Lucy have become fast friends! Lucy has purchased doggie treats for him (which were approved by his owners). I am told that every time he hears Lucy's voice his ears perk up and he runs over to our house. From then on it is just Lucy and Lovey. She throws the ball to him, she pets him and rubs is belly .She is quite stearn when telling him to Sit and Stay! He always listens to her - I guess like us he knows who's boss! The other morning he came by for his daily visit and I pointed out to Lucy that he had his haircut. She got a puzzled look on her face and I could tell something was going through her mind. After pondering for a moment she asked me, "How did he sit in the chair?" I laugh everytime I think of Lovey sitting in a chair at a hair salon.
We had a great 4th of July weekend!!! We love fourth of July as it is but it has a special meaning as it was the day we brought Lucy home!! I love that she became an American citizen on July 4th! I don't think we could have picked a better day. She had so much fun. A few days before she helped her Dad put all of the American flags along our walkway (unfortunatly I forgot to take a picture of that). They are the flags that Grandpa had lined our walkway with on the day she came home. So we keep them in a special box and take them out every year to celebrate the holiday. Every time she looked out the window she said, "I love those flags!". We went to the beach, we watched the fireworks, we had a visit from Aunt Allison and Uncle Patrick, and we b-b-q'd with neighbors. It was a great four day weekend with our favorite American Girl!!!!
Happy 4th of July!!!!!
Look what Uncle Patrick and Aunt Allison brought me!
I love Allison and Patrick!
I had everyone sing happy birthday to me when we ate the cake!
This past week we had the pleasure of hosting some of our favorite friends from Minneapolis in our new home! Lucy was counting down the days until she was going to see her buddy Ruby! Let me tell you she was not disappointed!! She was so excited to have Ruby, Ainsley, Sienna and of course Miss Di stay with us. The girls got along great! They were so cute together and I think they really were so happy to see one another. We were so excited to finally get to meet beautiful Sienna! She was everything we knew she would be and more!!! The girls had fun playing in the sprinkler, sharing treats, laughing, talking and hanging out at the beach! It was a perfect visit for the girls and for me!!! Lucy got to see her old friend and I got to see mine!!! I think this was the first of what will be an annual get together for two little girls who I suspect will alwyas remain friends!!! Thanks for coming girls!!! We miss you already!
