Three Years Ago Today....

Three years ago today, half way around the world our sweet Lucy was placed into our arms for the very first time. When I looked into her eyes I was sure that life as I knew it would never, ever be the same! I was absolutely right! I had all of the emotions a new parent would have when they hold their baby for the first time, fear, excitement, joy, happiness and love. I was prepared to take care of our sweet little girl and do everything I could to make her feel comfortable, safe and loved. What I was not prepared for and I guess I never will be was how much I could love someone.

From the moment we met her she captured our hearts. She brings a smile to my face every time I see her. I love watching her grow up. I love her emerging personality. I love that she is funny and witty. I love that she knows how to take a joke and play a joke as well. I love that she is sweet and kind. She shares whatever she has with whoever is around. She always makes sure that everyone is included in any activity. I love that she calls people, "sweetie" and "honey". I love that she always bends over to talk to anyone who is younger than she is. I love hearing her sing all of the cute songs she knows. I especially love when she changes the words because she knows I will laugh. I love that she carries a purse everywhere she goes. I love that she matches her bows and shoes to whatever outfit she is wearing. I love that she uses her manners and always tells people, "nice to meet you". I love that she has a great memory. I love that she says , "Hi" to every passer-by. I love that she loves to cuddle in bed with me in the morning, I love that she is a daddy's girl. I love that whenever she blows me a kiss she tells me to keep it in my heart. I love that she loves to cook and bake with me and that she makes up recipes. I could go on and on. What I love the most about Lucy is that she is my daughter!!!! I love nothing more than being her Mom. I thank God everyday that on June 24, 2007 he brought together three people from a world apart to become a family!!! For that I could never be more grateful!!!!

We love you to the moon and back sweet Lucy!!!! Happy Family Day to the greatest daughter a mom and dad could ever ask for!!!!

Beach Reunion!

When we traveled to China to adopt Lucy we became fast friends with two amazing couples!! We hit it off from our first meeting! We spent all of our time together in China. We enjoyed each others company and we were just crazy about all of our sweet girls. We all live in different cities but we promised to keep in touch and to get the girls together once a year. Well so far we have pretty much kept our promise! We constatntly keep in touch and we had our first reunion two years ago after being home one year with the girls. Last year we didn't get together because Tim and Wendy were fortunate enough to be able to go back to China to bring home their beautiful daughter Ellie! We all followed along on their journey to Ellie and then we planned a trip for June, 2010!

We just returned from a week at the beach with some of our very favorite people!!! It was a perfect trip!!! The girls got along like you wouldn't believe (as did the parents)! There was no fighting and for the most part it was all smiles, laughs, acting silly, lots of hugs and kisses and just plain cuteness!!! It was so fun to see each of the girls and to meet sweet Ellie for the first time!!! The girls all have their own unique and special personalities! They couldn't have been cuter and I don't think it could have been possible to have had more fun!!!!

Julie wins the award for being the most creative and organized mom. She made each of the girls their own personalized beach bag - which Lucy LOVED! She filled the bags with beach Barbies, necklaces ,books and a princess reunion pillowcase that all of the girls signed!!!! She packed a trunk full of dress up clothes and lots of fun games! In addition she brought her three older sweet children and her adorable niece who all entertained the girls to no end! It was a perfect trip filled with lots of happy memories!!! I am so happy that we were able to get together. I love seeing the girls together. Their sweet faces bring nothing but smiles to my face!!! I will do everything I can to continue this traditiion and cherish the friendships that I am lucky enough to have with these wondeful famililes!!!! The girls have a special bond and I love them all like crazy!
