Since today is the first day of fall I suppose summer is now officially over. I always hate to see the lazy days of summer come to an end. We have noticed that the days are getting much shorter and the nights are getting longer. We are currently enjoying the warm weather that we didn't have most of the summer. Lucy enjoyed a fun summer enjoying all of its simple pleasures!! Needless to say I enjoyed all of the time that we spent together! I am hoping for a nice fall and all that comes with it. The following pictures are a summary of the fun days we had in the Summer of 2009!!!! Hope everyone enjoys a great Fall!!!!!
This week Lucy celebrated her third birthday with her 3 best buddies! She had such a fun birthday party. There were tutu's and fairy wings, an adorable cake made my her buddy Phoebe's mom (my good friend Holly) and lots of laughs and sweetness! I must say it was all girly girl! I loved it as much as she did! How fun to be three and have such good friends!!! Happy Birthday sweet Lucy!!!!
Today was Lucy's first day of school! I can hardly believe that the sweet little baby we brought home 2 years ago is already in school. I have been preparing her for today. As of late she gets quite upset when I leave her (but I am always assured that she is fine minutes after my departure). When she woke up this morning she asked me if today was school. When I said yes she said, "yea"! I took that as a good sign. When we pulled into the parking lot of school she said from the backseat, "I love you Mommy and I will try hard to be your "big girl" today". I must say I had a little tear in my eye. She saw her buddy Vie Vie and they walked into school hand in hand. When we went into her classroom she was a bit apprehensive and a little tear came out of her eye and she asked me not to leave. It was hard but I left her in the arms of her sweet teacher. When I picked her up she was all smiles and couldn't wait to tell me about her day. So I guess we have passed another milestone in the life of Lucy. There are days when I wish she were still that little baby girl as it makes me sad that she is growing up. But today when I picked her up and saw her playing on the playground with her buddy Vieve with a huge smile on her face - I was happy that she was three! I intend to enjoy every milestone and every passing day and year and just live in the moment with my sweet girl! Thanks for being such a big girl today Lucy! I love you and am so proud of you!!!
All ready for her first day!
