Little Miss Ruby

This week Lucy and I had the pleasure of meeting Ruby and her mom Diana. Ruby was adopted from China one month before we adopted Lucy. Ruby and Lucy are from the same province in China and are just 5 weeks apart in age. When I told Lucy we were going to meet a little girl named Ruby and that she was born in China - she smiled and said, "Just like me Mommy". They hit it off as though they were long lost friends. They were so cute together and had such a fun day. Little Miss Ruby is the sweetest little girl - she puts a smile on your face the minute you meet her. Her Mom couldn't be sweeter or any more fun! I have to say we had a very successful "first date" and look forward to many more!!! Thanks for getting together Diana and Ruby ~What a perfect day we had!!!!!

Uncle Patrick and Aunt Allison

Over Memorial Day weekend Lucy was lucky enough to have a visit from her Uncle Patrick and Aunt Allison. She had so much fun with them. We had perfect weather which made for a wonderful weekend. We were busy from the time they arrived until the time they went home. Lucy is just crazy about Allison and Patrick and enjoyed every minute they were here! Thanks for visiting Aunt Patrick (as Lucy so lovingly refers to you) and Aunt Allison! We love you and miss you!

Enjoying a day at the lake on Friday!

On Saturday we went to Minnehaha Falls and rented a "rickshaw" aka surrey and Patrick peddled us all over the park (3 adults and 3 kids). I don't remember the last time I laughed so hard

We had a family b-b-q on Saturday evening

On Sunday we took a boat ride on Lake Minnetonka

Sunday was Lucy's cousin Conors birthday. He loves Super heroes and wanted that as the
theme for his birthday party. Uncle Patrick surprised him and came dressed as Batman. What a nice uncle!

Spring Planting

We have been quite busy in the yard the past few days. We started all of our planting last week and have worked non-stop the past few days. I have quite a helper in Lucy! She loves to help me pick out and purchase the flowers (she chose all pink - that's my girl!) plant the flowers, water them, run through the hose, get all wet, and do it all over again!!! I love this time of year as there is nothing better to me than working in the yard and in the garden. And although it takes me twice as long to get everything done because of my little helper - I wouldn't have it any other way!! After we planted all day Friday we were hit with a frost warning on Saturday - Lucy worked feverishly with her Daddy to cover up all of our plants and protect them from the elements. She even came out Saturday night in her pj's and "work boots" (as she likes to call them and insists on wearing!) to supervise her Daddy during the final plant cover-up! Thanks for being my good little helper Lucy - you make working in the yard all that much better!

Gloves on!

Now let's get to work!

Where do I begin?

Oh how I love watering!

Same job the next day!

ps -can you tell I picked out my own outfit today?

I can't get enough of this watering!

Helping Daddy cover all of the plants

Running to get more bags!

Supervising the remainder of the plant cover up in my nightgown (that is too small for me - but I love it and insist on wearing it) and my "work boots" on the wrong feet!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!

A mother is she who can take the place
of all others but whose place no one else can take.
