A Different Day At The Beach

We love the beach no matter what! A little (lot) of snow and ice were not going to stop us from a trip there this afternoon. The temperatures rose above freezing so we ventured down the street and to the beach.  We replaced our bathing suits and sunscreen with coats and mittens and had a fun time!  We were down there for a long time. The girls ran and jumped and wore themselves out. Instead of building a sand castle they built a little snowman. We marveled at the frozen water, the snowy sand dunes and the overall appearance.  We know that Spring is somewhere around the corner and we will once again see the blue water and the sunny skies. We will feel the warm sand beneath our feet and we will be jumping into the water instead of jumping off of frozen sand dunes!

We can see the sea oats through the snow!

Enough Already

I have taken a long break from posting anything here but not much has changed over the past four months - we have had a long, cold, snowy winter. Everyone I know is waving their flag of surrender. We are finished with Winter!! I realize there are much worse things than snow, ice and cold but right now most people around here are at their breaking point.
When I woke up this morning and there was yet another snow storm I wanted to scream, cry or get on a flight to someplace warm.  I did none of the above but instead went outside with the girls after school and played in the snow.  Hoping that some time soon this Winter will come to an end!  Hoping my next post will be snow free and full of sunshine!
Oh no - More snow!
Making the best of the weather!

Halloween, 2013

Thanksgiving is over, our Christmas tree is up and I am just posting pictures of Halloween:). The girls love Halloween and this year did not disappoint.  Unfortunately it was a wet, rainy day but that did not keep us from trick or treating for hours. I held the big umbrella and they collected lots and lots of candy. We walked around the neighborhood with a couple of their friends and they were all smiles and laughs.  When we got home we counted their candy and they graphed it for their homework assignment (not due until the following week). They loved seeing how much candy they received. It was once again a fun Halloween in our neighborhood!
